Good
morning!
First
I would like to thank everyone for all the great Teacher
Appreciation Week gifts. I received some amazing treats and gifts and sincerely appreciate each and every one of my students!
This
past Monday, I sent home the practice Language Arts EOG along with a
score sheet and some additional DPI information. This is the released third grade EOG and it looks very similar to what
your child will experience on May 26th, when they take their test. Using
the released score sheet from DPI, I scored each test based on the
percentage correct. On the actual EOG, your child has the chance to
earn a 1-5. A passing EOG score is 3 or above. We have been working
hard these last few weeks learning how to transfer answers from the test booklet to a bubble sheet.
Please keep practicing this skill with their homework, as it is
important that they do not lose their place.
Please
know that your child is ready! They have worked hard all year long
and this is just another way to assess their progress this year. You have amazing children and it has
been such a privilege to have each one in my class room. When I think
about how much they have had to learn in third grade, I’m very
proud of the effort and dedication they put forth.
I
will be sending home a special assignment for my wonderful parents on
Monday. Please do not tell your child about this. It will be a
special encouraging letter from you that they will open on their test
date. Everything you need will be in the envelope; this will be
located in their Monday folders. Please send these back to school
before Friday, May 22.
Happy
Reading!
Mrs.
Atkisson
